Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday directed Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari and other officials that the Rs 10,000 per acre rain damage relief announced by the state government be deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts, kicking off the process of extending financial assistance to farmers hit by unseasonal rains.
In another important decision reached at a review meeting held with the officials at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday, the CM instructed them to immediately initiate steps to provide Rs 3 lakh assistance each to beneficiaries for the construction of houses under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme as well as begin the process of distribution of ‘pattas’ for ‘podu’ lands.
Rao gave the CS the go-ahead to start the process of formulating necessary modalities for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme and issue them as soon as possible.
Given that the government has taken measures towards a lasting solution to the podu land issue, the CM asked officials on the status of distribute ‘pattas’ for podu lands. Officials informed the CM that they were ready to print pattadar passbooks for distribution to 1.55 lakh podu land pieces spread across four lakh acres to eligible persons. The CM stated that the date will be notified soon.
Additionally, the CM sanctioned Rs 1 crore for the Sri Sitarama Kalyanam to be held at Bhadrachalam on Thursday as part of the Sri Rama Navami celebrations because the Bhadrachalam temple has experienced financial losses over the previous two years as a result of the effects of Covid-19.
The CM gave the go-ahead for the second stage of the sheep distribution scheme to get underway and emphasized that district collectors will be in charge of overseeing the procurement of the sheep.
