Karimnagar: In an effort to provide students with real-life exposure to farming practices, students of Zilla Parishad High School, Odyaram, participated in paddy plantation activities on Wednesday.
As part of an experiential learning initiative, school authorities took students from Classes VI to X to nearby agricultural fields, where they enthusiastically took part in planting paddy. Under the guidance of teachers and local farmers, the students experienced rural life and the physical effort involved in agriculture
The hands-on exercise aimed to familiarise students with practical farming practices. During the visit, they learned about different types of crops, soil varieties, the use of natural manure, and crop yielding periods.
Teachers said the initiative was designed to promote practical learning beyond textbooks, help students appreciate the hard work of farmers, and instill values such as teamwork, responsibility, and environmental awareness.
The experience offered the students not only a meaningful day in the fields but also a memorable lesson that bridged classroom learning with real-world knowledge.
