Hyderabad: The state government on Wednesday revised GO 59 for regularisation of government land under the possession of private individuals. As per the revised order, the government will collect market rates existing at the time of submission of the application for regularisation against the cut-off date of June 2, 2014 (Formation Day of Telangana state) prescribed earlier.

It may be recalled that a year after the formation of Telangana, the BRS government issued the two GOs (GO 58 and GO 59) for the regularisation of land under Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS) in the possession of applicants prior to the formation of the Telangana on June 2, 2014.

While GO 58 was issued to regularise plots up to 125 sq yards for applicants from BPL (below poverty line) free of cost, GO 59 pertains to regularising land held by individuals other than the BPL category by collecting the market value of the land depending upon the size of the plot area

In 2015, the government received 3.46 lakh applications under GO 58 and 48,394 applications under GO 59.

The government gave another opportunity to apply for LRS in February 2022 as a last and final chance for those who could not apply for LRS in 2015 for various reasons.

It asked them to submit online applications from February 21 to March 31, 2022. Nearly 96,000 applications were received under GO 58 and 72,000 applications under GO 59.

The government has now decided to regularise lands under GO 59 as per market rates existing at the time of submission of the application.
