Hyderabad: From Hyderabad, travel to Bengaluru in just about two hours, reach Chennai in less than three hours and Pune in less than two hours.
Among the seven High-Speed Rail Corridors across the country announced in the Union Budget presented on Sunday, three originate or terminate in Hyderabad. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday, during a virtual press meet from New Delhi, said these corridors will significantly boost connectivity and mobility, forming a triangular economic growth corridor supporting education, healthcare, business and industry
“With the introduction of these high speed trains, the travel time between Hyderabad to Bengaluru is expected to be two hours, Hyderabad to Chennai is two hours and 55 minutes and Hyderabad to Pune is one hour and 55 minutes,” he announced.
He also said a record budget of Rs 5,454 crore was allocated for Telangana for the year 2026–27. This marked a nearly six-fold increase compared to the average annual outlay of Rs 886 crore for the combined Andhra Pradesh during 2009–14
The Railways Minister said railway infrastructure projects worth Rs 47,984 crore were currently under execution in Telangana and added that the state’s railway network has achieved 100 per cent electrification.
