Mangalagiri: The IA&AD South Zone Cricket Tournament-2025, being held at the ACA International Cricket Stadium in Mangalagiri under the aegis of the Principal Accountant General's office in Vijayawada, witnessed two thrilling matches on the second day.

The first match of the day was played between the Andhra-Telangana team and the Tamil Nadu team. The Tamil Nadu team, after winning the toss, chose to bowl first. The Andhra-Telangana team, batting first, scored 154 runs in 20 overs, losing three wickets.

Yash Kotari of the Andhra-Telangana team scored 77 runs off 57 balls, hitting three sixes and seven fours, and remained unbeaten. Tarun scored 27 runs.

Ashwin Balaji of the Tamil Nadu team took two wickets, giving away 39 runs in four overs. Ravi Teja DB took two wickets, giving away 45 runs in four overs. Rahul Buddhi took one wicket, giving away 12 runs.

The Tamil Nadu team, in response, achieved the target of 155 runs, winning the match by five wickets. The team scored 128 runs in 18 overs, losing four wickets.

With the Tamil Nadu team needing 27 runs in 12 balls to reach the target in the last two overs, they managed only four runs in the 19th over, leaving them needing 23 runs in the last six balls. At this point, it seemed that the Andhra-Telangana team would win. However, Francis Rockin, the batsman, hit two consecutive sixes, reducing the target.

In the last over, the team needed 11 runs to win. Vignesh came in to bat and took a single, leaving Vedant Bharadwaj to score the remaining runs. Bharadwaj hit a four and a six in consecutive balls, securing the victory for the Tamil Nadu team.

Vedant Bharadwaj, who had performed exceptionally well in the first match, continued his form in the second match, scoring 62 runs in just 53 balls, including three sixes and four fours. Abdul Bajith scored 33 runs in 24 balls, hitting three sixes and two fours.


In the afternoon, Karnataka won the toss and elected to field first in their match against Kerala. Kerala, batting first, scored 127 runs in 20 overs, losing nine wickets. Kerala batsmen Sachin scored 29 runs and Shyamson scored 24 runs.

Karnataka bowlers Darshan took three wickets for 21 runs in four overs, while Arjun Goud took two wickets for 29 runs in four overs. AM Kiran took one wicket for 18 runs in four overs.

Later, Karnataka, batting second, scored 128 runs, losing only two wickets, and won the match by eight wickets. In this match, Karnataka batsman Abhirat Reddy scored 50 runs in 37 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Arjun Hoysala scored 41 runs in 25 balls, including six fours and a six. SS scored 29 runs in 21 balls, including two fours and two sixes.

Kerala bowlers Manukrishnan took one wicket for 25 runs, while Mithun took one wicket for 29 runs. Ultimately, they could not prevent Karnataka's victory.

The tournament will continue on Wednesday, with the Kerala team facing Tamil Nadu in the morning, followed by the Andhra-Telangana team taking on Karnataka in the afternoon.

In this context, the senior deputy accountant generals Bhaskar Kalluru, Kishore Reddy, R. Shyam, Rakesh Nayak, and N. Nikhil felicitated the players who showed excellent performance. They praised the team for their outstanding performance.
