Chairman of SBI Challa Sreenivasulu Setty performed the Bhoomi Pooja for the proposed Construction of its new Local Had Office(LHO) building at Amaravati, marking the beginning of a significant new chapter in the Bank's journey in the state. The proposed LHO building represents a landmark initiative reflecting SBI's long-term vision and its strong commitment to the growth and development of Andhra Pradesh.
The initiative underscores the Bank's continued role as a responsible corporate citizen, working in close partnership with the government and the community to promote inclusive and sustainable development. The occasion was graced by several top executives of the Bank.
On this auspicious occasion SBI Amaravati Circle undertook two major CSR activities at Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh as detailed below.
CSR Activity-1: Contribution to Government General Hospital, Guntur
As part of the CSR activity, Shri. Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman SBI, handed over a cheque for Rs. 4.12 Crore to . Dr. S.S. Venkata Ramana, Superintendent of GGH, Guntur through SBI Foundation for purpose of procurement and installation of Advanced Medical Equipment for the Cardiology Department of GGH, Guntur. These state-of-the-art medical facilities are expected to significantly strengthen interventional cardiology services at the hospital and enable the delivery of advanced and quality cardiac care to patients.
CSR Activity-2: Contribution to ST. Ann's Hospital, Vijayawada
Under another CSR activity, the Chariman of SBI handed over a cheque for Rs. 86,97,143.00 through SBI, Amaravati Circle to Sr. Elizabeth Antony, Health Care
Co-Ordinator & Sr. Merina Thomas, Administrator of ST. Ann's Hospital Vijayawada, which is managed by the ST. Ann's Educational Society, charitable institution, for the purpose of procurement and installation of Advanced Medical diagnostic Equipment 1) Digital Mammography Venus DRV+ 2) Color Doppler Ultrasound Scanner Hera W10 Elite. These modern diagnostic facilities will play a crucial role in the early detection of Breast Cancer, enabling timely diagnosis, effective treatment and improved health outcomes for women particularly those from economically weaker sections.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Setty, Chairman of SBI, stated that the Bank remains committed to promoting diversified activities under its CSR framework, with a strong focus on healthcare, environmental sustainability, and social development. He emphasized that SBI continues to support initiatives that improve access to quality healthcare for under-served communities and contribute meaningfully to national development goals.
