Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh All Set to Host First-Ever National Cultural Festival for Tribal Children
• State gears up for EMRS National Cultural & Literary Festival

Amaravati, November 25: The Tribal Welfare Department is fully prepared to organise the cultural and literary festival under the aegis of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) grandly and systematically. With the twin objectives of unearthing the hidden talents of tribal students and promoting national integration among them, the State Government is all set to conduct the festival from December 3rd to 5th. The venue has been finalised at KL University, located near the state capital, Amaravati.
Named Udbhav-2025, the cultural and literary festival will see 1,644 students from 405 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across 22 states participating to showcase their talents. In addition, 278 senior officials, teachers, guardians, and contingent managers from the respective states will also attend. The event will give pride of place to cultural programmes such as music, literature, dance, and theatre arts that reflect the country’s cultural and artistic diversity as well as the life and ethos of tribal communities.
To ensure flawless conduct of the festival, special committees have been constituted for competition management, supervision, invitations, hospitality, prize distribution, cultural programmes, protocol, registration, transportation, and publicity. On Tuesday, at the Velagapudi Secretariat, Hon’ble Minister Smt. Gummidi Sandhyarani, along with Tribal Welfare Director Smt. Sadabhargavi, Gurukulam Secretary Smt. M. Gouthami and other senior officials briefed the media on the preparatory arrangements.
Expressing immense happiness that Andhra Pradesh is hosting such a cultural festival for tribal children for the first time, the Minister revealed that all 405 EMRS institutions across the country are participating, and 110 tribal students from 28 schools in the state are ready to display their talents. She directed officials to ensure there are no shortcomings in transportation, accommodation, and food arrangements for the participants of Udbhav-2025.
The Minister stated that the main aim of the festival is to bring out the creativity of tribal children, remove their fear and inhibitions, and provide them a strong platform to exhibit their talents. She added that the programme is being organised in accordance with the directions and valuable suggestions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, with special focus on according recognition to tribal culture, traditions, and literature. Minister Sandhyarani clarified that the event will be made successful through perfect coordination among students, teachers, and officials.
She opined that such competitions greatly contribute to fostering national integration and social awareness among tribal students while encouraging them towards culture, traditions, and arts. The Minister assured that the competitions will be conducted in a manner that enhances the prestige of Andhra Pradesh at the national level.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister unveiled the official poster and logo of Udbhav-2025.
