Amaravati: The construction of Ambedkar Smritivan will be expedited, and the pending works will be completed soon, said Dr. Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Minister for Social Welfare. On Tuesday, the Minister, accompanied by Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, visited Ambedkar Smritivan in Vijayawada to review the remaining construction works.
Speaking to the media later, the Minister stated that the TDP government (2014-2019) initiated steps to install the country’s largest Ambedkar statue in the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. Land was allocated in Amaravati, and construction works commenced accordingly. However, due to subsequent developments, the previous government abandoned the project in Amaravati and shifted it to Vijayawada.
He criticized the former government for deceiving the public by inaugurating the project before its completion. Many works remain pending under this project, which will now be completed soon, he assured. Minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy added that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is working in alignment with Ambedkar’s vision and that the coalition government is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
