Amaravati,:Nearly 5 lakh people should participate directly in the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations to be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam on June 21, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand has called for at least 2 crore people to participate in the Yoga Day program to be held in all districts across the state up to the village level. He held a video conference with the secretaries,and district collectors from the State Secretariat on Monday on issues such as International Yoga Day, State Project Monitoring Group (SPMG) for various infrastructure projects, construction of toilets in all court complexes. CS spoke about the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations to be held in Visakhapatnam on June 21 at the main venue to be held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam.
He said that steps are being taken to ensure that 5 lakh people directly participate and perform yoga asanas.Similarly, he instructed the collectors to ensure that at least 2 crore people participate in the Yoga Day celebrations organized in all districts across the state up to the village level. He said that the district collectors should take special care in this regard and work to increase awareness among the people about the importance of yoga for maintaining health in daily life.CS Vijayanand stated that circular orders and GOs will be issued on Tuesday on the steps to be taken regarding the organization of International Yoga Day celebrations.
Talking about the State Project Monitoring Group(SPMG)he said that the SPMG Monitoring Group will monitor the permissions, clearances and other issues related to infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 50 crore.He said that this is the first meeting in this regard and from now on, it will be reviewed once every 15 days.District Collectors should identify land-related issues and other issues and work towards their speedy resolution.The CS instructed the secretaries and collectors to ensure that the work of the respective projects is completed expeditiously, especially through inter-departmental coordination.
As per the orders of the Supreme Court of India, CS Vijayanand directed the district collectors to complete the construction of toilets in all the court complexes in the state within three months.He said that works worth about Rs 50 crore have already been sanctioned in this regard.He instructed the collectors to complete the works expeditiously in the order of highest priority.
Special Chief Secretary Medical and Health and State-level Monitoring Nodal Officer for the International Yoga Day celebrations, M.T. Krishnababu, explained through a PowerPoint presentation the arrangements to be made for the International Yoga Day.He said that in 2023, One lakh 53,000 people participated in the 10th International Yoga Day celebrations held in Surat, Gujarat State, setting a Guinness record, and a total of 1.25 million people participated in the celebrations.He said that arrangements are being made to ensure that 5 lakh people participate directly at the main venue of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations to be held at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam on June 21. He also said that efforts should be made to ensure that at least 2 crore people participate across the state.This year, International Yoga Day will be celebrated with the slogan “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” to create awareness among the people about yoga, and a month-long campaign called YogaAndhra will be organized across the state from June 21 to June 21 to encourage everyone to practice yoga.
He said that this program will be carried out in three phases, namely, the initial phase will be Training of Trainers from 21 to 27 of this month, training for master trainers at the mandal level from 28 to June 3, and training will be conducted at the village and ward levels from June 4 to 16.He suggested that a curtain raiser event be organized in all districts on the 21st of this month with at least 10 thousand public representatives, yoga instructors, PETs, yoga abhyasakas, etc.regarding International Yoga Day. He said that a meeting should be held with social media influencers on 27th of this month and efforts should be made to create awareness among the people with their participation. He suggested that special steps should be taken to organize International Yoga Day in 100 tourist and spiritual centers across the state on June 21.
The meeting was attended by General Administration Department Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, PR & RD Principal Secretary Shashi Bhushan Kumar, I&I Department Secretary Dr. N. Yuva Raj, Law Department Secretary Pratibha Devi, I&PR Director Himanshu Shukla participated.secretaries and district collectors participated virtually.
