Andhra Pradesh Showcases Tourism Investment Potential at South India MICE Leaders Connect in Chennai
Andhra Pradesh Tourism marked a strong and strategic presence at the IEIA South India MICE Industry Leaders Connect, held at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai. The prestigious platform brought together senior government officials, industry experts, and key tourism stakeholders to shape a collaborative roadmap for strengthening the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) ecosystem across South India.
Smt. Amrapali Kata, IAS, Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), participated as a distinguished panelist in the high-level session titled “Synergy for Success: A Collaborative Roadmap for MICE Dominance.” Representing Andhra Pradesh, she delivered a concise and compelling overview of the state's proactive initiatives aimed at building a conducive environment for tourism investments and MICE infrastructure development.
In her address, Smt. Amrapali emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s focus on:
Expanding tourism infrastructure,
Promoting key cities like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Tirupati as preferred MICE destinations,
Unlocking the potential of tier-2 and tier-3 locations, and
Advancing public-private partnership (PPP) models to drive sustainable and inclusive regional growth.
The panel was moderated by Mr. Sooraj Dhawan, President, IEIA, and featured prominent tourism leaders from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Hyderabad. The event was inaugurated by Shri Suman Billa, IAS, Additional Secretary & Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Discussions focused on regional collaboration, global positioning, and actionable PPP strategies to elevate South India as a competitive global MICE hub.
Also representing Andhra Pradesh Tourism at the event were Smt. Padma Rani Seela, Chief Marketing Officer, and Smt. Satya Prabha, Investment Consultant, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority. Their participation further reflected the state’s commitment to active industry engagement and investment facilitation.
