The burglary occurred late on the night of July 27, Sunday, while the residents were asleep. Thieves broke into the home of Shankar Varaprasad, the proprietor of Sumana Gas Agency, by sneaking into the prayer room. The house is located on the 9th street of Fun Time Club area in the western part of the city. The following morning, the family discovered the theft and immediately filed a complaint with the CCS police.

The burglars made away with 365 grams of gold and ₹30,000 in cash. Upon receiving the complaint, a CCS team rushed to the crime scene and conducted a thorough inspection with the help of the Clues Team.

The swift breakthrough was made possible thanks to the push for modern surveillance initiated after the appointment of NTR Police Commissioner Rajashekar Babu. CCTV cameras have been installed across various parts of the city, which played a crucial role in tracing the movement of the suspects.

Additional DCP for Crime, Rajarao, personally oversaw the investigation and took special initiative to ensure the culprits were tracked quickly. With the help of advanced forensic tools and camera footage analysis, the suspects were identified within hours.
