Amaravati: Energy Minister Shri Gottipati Ravi Kumar stated that the coalition government led by Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu is resolving employees’ issues on a priority basis. The Minister, along with MLA and PUC Chairman Shri Kuna Ravi Kumar, released the diary and calendar of the Andhra Pradesh Electricity BC Employees Welfare Association at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Gottipati urged electricity employees to perform their duties in a manner that enhances public satisfaction. He announced that, with the approval of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, new recruitments will soon be undertaken to reduce the workload on electricity employees. He assured that any issues related to medical insurance limits would be addressed appropriately.
The Minister recalled that over 90 percent of the demands brought to the government’s notice by electricity employees have already been resolved. He stated that the government is restoring the power sector system which was weakened during the previous YSRCP government. Andhra Pradesh, he said, is the only state in the country to have converted True-Up charges into True-Down benefits. He further added that the government has reduced costly power purchases from private entities while achieving record levels of power generation by utilizing the state’s available resources. He assured full support and cooperation to power employees in all matters.
PUC Chairman and MLA Shri Kuna Ravi Kumar stated that power sector reforms introduced by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu are now being implemented in several states across the country. He remarked that TDP stands for BCs and BCs stand for TDP.
Association President Shri Polaki Srinivasa Rao said employees are playing a key role in taking various welfare schemes of the government to the people. He thanked the government for decisions taken regarding PRC, DA, increments, and compassionate appointments in the power sector.
General Secretary K. Appa Rao, Finance Secretary S. Venkata Rao, Associate President G. Ramu, BC Association leader Keshana Shankar Rao, along with employee association leaders and members from various districts, participated in the event.
