Financial Aid Provided by Kasturi Poornachandra Foundation
Vijayawada: For the past 13 years, the Kasturi Poornachandra Foundation has been commendably emphasizing education by providing scholarships to underprivileged students and financial assistance to their families. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Chinni) appreciated the foundation’s services, lauding its efforts to uplift poor students and extend support to their parents.
On Monday, at their residence in Brindavan Colony, the foundation organized a distribution event in memory of prominent political leader Valluru Poornachandra Rao and his wife Valluru Kasturi Bai. During the program, scholarships were distributed to underprivileged students, financial assistance was provided to patients and the needy, and new clothes were distributed.
MP Kesineni Srinivas attended the event as the chief guest and handed over financial aid on behalf of the foundation to the beneficiaries, including students, patients, and underprivileged families.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Kesineni Srinivas praised Valluru Poornachandra Rao as a determined and efficient leader who prioritized education and supported the underprivileged. He highlighted the foundation’s 13-year-long journey in fulfilling the vision of Valluru Poornachandra Rao and expressed his hope that its services would expand further.
The MP also mentioned the NDA’s focus on state development and education after coming to power. He applauded Education Minister Nara Lokesh for introducing schemes like mid-day meals in government schools to ensure poverty does not hinder education. Additionally, he announced that the "Mother's Veneration Scheme," starting in the upcoming academic year, would provide ₹15,000 per year to families for each student.
Furthermore, he shared that efforts are being made to modernize grounds in 147 government schools in NTR District, including the construction of long jump pits. On January 23, sports kits featuring 8 types of sports equipment will be distributed free of cost to these schools to encourage students to excel in sports.
Speaking on behalf of the foundation, Valluru Ravindranath stated that the primary objective of the Kasturi Poornachandra Foundation is to promote education. He highlighted their efforts in supporting students from municipal schools in Fakirugudem and Municipal Employees Colony by providing scholarships, uniforms, shoes, and belts. This year, ₹2.75 lakhs were distributed to underprivileged students, patients, and needy families.
Trust members Ram Prasad, Valluru Ashok Babu, Chilakapati Usharani, and their family members also participated in the event.
