Addressing the two-day 6th District Collectors’ conference at State Secretariat today, the Chief Minister said that the government branding the products made by self-help groups women of DWCRA and MEPMA under the name Swayam and unveiled the logo on the occasion of International Women’s Day. These products should be marketed through a cooperative system similar to Amul. Amul operates with the participation of dairy farmers, while Swayam will have the participation of DWCRA women. He said the DWCRA products must meet global standards to reach international markets. Traceability and certification should also be ensured. With 28 districts, we should create 28 brands and encourage competition. Quality standards are the most crucial factor in establishing the Swayam brand,” he added.
The Chief Minister said district-level RTGS centers should be established to analyze the performance of government employees. Computer literacy should be made a mandatory qualification for all government jobs. Each district should also have an HR institute to enhance employees’ capacities. Even if the Planning Department introduces online courses, collectors should ensure that employees gain practical knowledge. The Chief Minister said agriculture needs to be reoriented and farmers should move toward horticulture and animal husbandry along with traditional farming.
The Chief Minister said a four-lane corridor from Ichchapuram to Chennai is being developed. The Railway Department is modernizing all railway stations and we should take advantage of this opportunity. There are more than 1,137 railway crossings where ROBs and RUBs should be constructed. Logistics parks should be connected to railway lines to enable low-cost transportation. If the PM Surya Ghar and PM Kusum schemes are implemented effectively, good results can be achieved.
Special focus should be placed on reducing the cost of power purchases. No other state has reduced electricity charges recently, but we have already taken steps in that direction and should continue further. Through skill training, youth should be provided employment opportunities. MLAs and ministers should also take responsibility and promote these initiatives. Special attention should be given to jobs and skill development through the Skill and Kaushal portals. A uniform policy should be followed for employment and skill development for youth. Initiatives such as AI Tutor and AI Doctor should also be prioritized.
Logistics development should be given major emphasis. As part of logistics projects, industrial townships should be developed near ports and airports. Logistics parks should be developed under the MSME policy. Steps should also be taken to establish heliports on five acres in each district, for which the central government will provide funds. Setting up heliports in important towns and regions will be beneficial,” the Chief Minister said.
Municipal Commissioners must focus on sanitation and Cities and towns should compete with each other in winning Swachh Survekshan awards. Public awareness on sanitation should also be increased, the Chief Minister added.
Deep-tech usage should increase in sectors such as smart healthcare, agriculture, education and digital governance. Technologies like AI, blockchain, IoT, and robotics can deliver results quickly and at lower cost. The use of technology in agriculture should increase. Initiatives like Agritech and AI Agronomist should be taken to every household through the ‘Raithanna Meekosam’ program. This program should be conducted every month on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
