Down-to-earth, humble, a man without an ego, tech smart, honest, punctual, highly disciplined, sincere, strict yet compassionate—perhaps the adjectives in the English lexicon are insufficient to characterise M. Mahender Reddy's personality. Simply put, he is a rare jewel and a role model for the country.

He is a trendsetter, a game-changer, and a revolutionary who created his own era; he will be written in the history books. His doors were always open to the public, regardless of the position he held. His office doors are always open, whether you are a street hawker, a driver, a teacher, an officer, a student, a scientist, or a journalist. He didn't judge others based on their position, rank, or income. He was always willing to listen to everyone's problems. Anyone in need or in distress could always call him. He dressed up, went to his office regardless of the time, and answered the phone when someone in need called. When questioned about why this was required, he replied, "How can I expect my subordinates to work if I am not working?" He set a good example. As DGP, he exposed 395 corrupt police personnel and ensured that action was taken against them as a virtuous officer who did not shirk from punishing the corrupt.

Even after reaching the peak, he never forgot his roots; his friends who studied with him have easy access to him, and he frequently calls to check on their well-being, which reflects his humility and friendliness.

M. Mahender Reddy, the retired Police Chief of Telangana, has seen it all in his illustrious career, from humble beginnings to the highest honour. He will be remembered in the annals of the Telangana Police Force for a career filled with all the action an IPS officer could possibly see, from combating public crime to naxal extremism, reducing corruption, and applying advanced innovation to improve policing. For the past 36 years, he has been an exceptional leader for the men and women under his charge. As Telangana's Police Chief, he established a new sense of discipline and responsibility in the police, allowing them to grow and develop professionally. In addition to his innovative work on the force, he instituted new procedures to protect and serve the public and ensured that the police force was well-equipped with the latest technologies, allowing them to respond rapidly to emergencies and prevent future crimes. His dedication to justice will be recognised and appreciated for many years to come. Telangana is presently one of the safest and most secure states in India as a result of his leadership. He was a great advocate of justice, a shining example of someone who fought tirelessly to keep Telangana's citizens secure and protected.
