Visakhapatnam: Joint collector and ITDA PO Dr M.J. Abhishek Gowda directed Girijan Co-operative Corporation (GCC) officials to prioritise the collection of tribal products. At a review meeting held on Wednesday at the ITDA office, he stressed storage, purchase and sales processes for tribal and forest products handled by the GCC. Dr Gowda highlighted the importance of meeting coffee collection targets and needing improved loan recovery from tribal farmers.

GCC divisional managers were instructed to conduct monthly inspections of D.R. depots, while district managers were asked to submit their tour diaries to the ITDA each month. A recent inspection found that the Paderu D.R. depot's records were not properly maintained. The joint collector advised preparing action plans for the upcoming year's procurement. ITDA assistant project officer M. Venkateswara Rao, GCC DM M. Lu Devaraj and Simhachalam Venkatesh attended the review meeting.
