Implement Excise Policy Favorable to Star Hotels

Vijayawada, 18-01-2025 : The AP Hotels Association President, Mr. R.V. Swamy, has urged the implementation of an excise policy that is favorable to star hotels in the state. Under the leadership of the AP Hotels Association, Mr. R.V. Swamy, Taj Gateway proprietor Mr. Rajayya, and Fortune Murali Park proprietor Mr. Muthavarapu Murali met with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday night at the CM's residence as a courtesy call.
During the meeting, Mr. R.V. Swamy brought several issues to the CM's attention. Highlighting the excise policies in neighboring states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, he pointed out that the annual excise fee in Andhra Pradesh is ₹68 lakhs and requested its revision.
He also urged the government to grant industry status to operational hotels, reduce electricity tariffs, and lower municipal taxes. Responding positively, the Chief Minister assured that the excise policy would be implemented without causing inconvenience to hotel managements and extended his support to address their concerns.
