State Mines, Geological Resources and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra said that late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was a great leader who worked for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. NTR's statue was unveiled at Gopuvanipalem in Pamarru constituency along with Nandamuri Ramakrishna, Nandamuri Suhasini and RTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao. Born and brought up in Nimmakuru, he showed the greatness of Telugu people to the world. He was born in a farmer's family and rose to fame in the film industry. He will always be remembered for the roles he played.

Many revolutionary schemes like rice at Rs 2 per kg and Janata Vastra have been introduced. History has been made with decisions like women's reservation. NTR is synonymous with welfare. The event was attended by the party's state unit chief Nalin Kumar Kateel, Krishna district president Gadde Anuradha, MLA Varla Kumar Raja and others.
