Vijayawada: Marking two years since its inception on January 27, 2023, the historic Yuvagalam Padayatra led by IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh has been hailed as a monumental effort for Andhra Pradesh’s development and future. MP Kesineni Srinivas (Chinni) lauded the 226-day-long initiative during a press meet held at the Vijayawada Parliament Office and NTR Bhavan on Monday, also celebrating Minister Lokesh’s successful participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos.
Highlighting the padayatra’s impact, MP Kesineni recalled that Minister Lokesh covered 3,132 km across 226 days, unveiling the 2,500-km milestone at Prakasam Barrage. He pointed out that the three-day yatra in Krishna district during August 2023 witnessed an overwhelming response, with massive public gatherings instilling fear in the ruling YSRCP.
The padayatra traversed 97 constituencies, 232 mandals/municipalities, and 2,097 villages across 11 districts, challenging the Jagan government’s corruption and listening to people’s grievances. Lokesh’s efforts not only rejuvenated public confidence but also played a pivotal role in establishing a government that prioritizes citizens’ welfare.
Yuvagalam’s Role in Political Victory
MP Kesineni emphasized that 90 out of the 97 constituencies covered by the Yuvagalam Padayatra were won by the NDA alliance, crediting Lokesh’s leadership and promises made during the yatra.
Reviving Brand AP through Global Efforts
He criticized the industrial decline under the YSRCP government, attributing the revival efforts to CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Lokesh. At the WEF summit in Davos, Lokesh showcased Andhra Pradesh’s potential to over 30 global industrialists, paving the way for significant investments.
He noted that under the NDA government, led by CM Chandrababu Naidu, the state secured ₹6.33 lakh crore in investments and created over 4 lakh jobs within seven months. Over 50 companies have committed to invest ₹5 lakh crore, generating 40,000 employment opportunities.
One notable achievement was Lokesh’s negotiation with ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, securing a ₹1.46 lakh crore investment through a single Zoom call, a feat unmatched during the five years of Jagan’s administration.
Kesineni concluded by affirming that Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth is back on track, with domestic and international companies eager to invest, attracted by the state’s visionary policies and governance.
