Amaravati, Feb 9, 2026:A team of officials from the Meghalaya National Health Mission (NHM) is touring Andhra Pradesh to review the implementation of the Anaemia Mukt Bharat programme. Andhra Pradesh is among the states effectively implementing the initiative under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
As part of the visit, senior NHM officials from Meghalaya, including Dr. Noverina Marak and Badonder Shilla, visited a high school and the Urban Health Centre in Mangalagiri constituency on Monday to assess field-level implementation. The team is scheduled to visit Anganwadi centres and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) on Tuesday.
The Meghalaya delegation also held a meeting with programme officers of the Health and Family Welfare Department to understand implementation strategies. Officials explained measures being taken to reduce anaemia among pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and students, including distribution of iron supplements, syrups, tablets, and other preventive interventions.
