Plant trees today to protect future generations
Dharmavaram, January 17:
State Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav will launch a large-scale tree plantation programme on Sunday at the Government College Ground in Dharmavaram, aiming to plant 10,000 saplings across the Dharmavaram constituency under the theme Green Dharmavaram – Clean Dharmavaram, according to an official statement.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, which seeks to involve citizens nationwide in environmental protection, the programme will be implemented extensively across the Dharmavaram constituency. The Minister said the core objective is for every citizen to plant a tree in the name of their mother, thereby protecting the environment while fostering an emotional bond with nature.
He emphasised that environmental protection is not solely the responsibility of the government but a collective responsibility of every citizen. To ensure a healthy lifestyle for future generations, the present generation must take the lead in planting and nurturing trees, he said. The goal is to transform the Dharmavaram constituency into a greener and cleaner region.
The programme includes plantation drives in urban and rural areas, covering schools, colleges, government offices, roadsides and public spaces. The Minister stated that responsibility for the care and protection of every planted sapling will be shared with the public.
Public representatives, NDA alliance leaders, party workers, officials, students, voluntary organisations and residents of the Dharmavaram constituency have been urged to participate in large numbers and make the programme a success. The Minister expressed confidence that the Green Dharmavaram – Clean Dharmavaram initiative will serve as a significant step toward making the constituency a model for environmental conservation.
