CM directs officials to go ahead to develop medical colleges under PPP mode as per central guidelines:CM
AMARAVATI: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that there will be no compromise in providing better health care and medical education to poor and stated that PPP mode of development is being implemented throughout the country. He directed the officials to go ahead to develop medical colleges under PPP mode to provide corporate medical facilities to poor.
The Chief Minister conducted a review on medical and health sector at secretariat today. The officials informed the Chief Minister about the central government’s guidelines on developing medical colleges under PPP mode. They said that the central government introduced viability gap fund to be extended by both central and state governments giving priority to social health sector. They said medical colleges and hospitals are being developed under PPP mode in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh states so far.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to go ahead to develop medical colleges and hospitals under PPP mode as per central government guidelines. The officials informed the Chief Minister that tenders were called for Adoni, Madanapalli, Pulivendula, Markapuram medical colleges and six national and international agencies participated in pre-bid meeting conducted on October 6. The Chief Minister advised the officials to sign MoU with the agency which came forward to develop Adoni medical college and speed up tenders process for other colleges also.
The Chief Minister also reviewed on the Sanjeevani pilot project grounded in Kuppam. He asked the officials to extend the project to entire Chittoor district and update the digital health records of people.
