“Similar to One District, One Product, focus is on One Airport, One Product to build focused, efficient, and growth-driven aviation ecosystems” - Mr Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu Minister for Civil Aviation, Government of India

“We are working to streamline district-level ecosystems so that communities can collectively contribute to developing a specialised product, creating expertise and economic strength within that region. Extending the same idea to aviation, just as we have One District, One Product, we are now analysing airports through the lens of One Airport, One Product to build focused, efficient, and growth-driven aviation ecosystems,” stated Mr Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Hon’ble Minister for Civil Aviation, Government of India, at the standalone session at the 30th CII Partnership Summit, held on 15 November in Visakhapatnam. He went on to highlight that, as per Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, if we want the country to grow, both inclusively and exclusively, domestically and internationally, connectivity is the key

Hon’ble Minister spoke of logistics being a major propellant in the growth story of any nation, be it in the road sector, railway sector, air connectivity, or ports. He highlighted the rapid increase in the number of domestic and international passengers, as well as the number of domestic and international flights, which have doubled in the last 11 years.

He went on to say, “While reimagining the future of airports, we are now working towards classifying them as mega or large airports, medium airports and small-scale airports. Once the category is defined, it becomes easier to determine the land and infrastructure required for each, ensuring smarter and more efficient planning”.

Mr G B S Raju, Chairman-Airports, GMR Group, echoed the Union Minister’s views and said, “Infrastructure investment supports trade, employment, and income. The growth story in Indian Civil Aviation is phenomenal, driven by rising income, a growing middle class, and a push for regional connectivity”.

He highlighted India's infrastructure and aviation growth as a story of optimism and opportunity, with the aviation sector not just growing, but soaring. This sector expansion aims to create an estimated 25 million jobs by 2047 from pilots, engineers, staff, technicians, and the entire development of the tourism industry.

Mr Murali Krishna Gannamani, Chairman, CII Andhra Pradesh and Founder & CEO, Fluentgrid Ltd, at the session spoke about the growth story of India’s civil aviation sector, which has been nothing short of transformative; with a growing number of operational airports and domestic passenger traffic, underscoring the scale and dynamism of the sector. He highlighted that India now stands at the world's third-largest domestic aviation market.

Mr Gannamani also said, “CII actively advocates strengthening partnership models and industry engagements, including regulatory innovations, skill development, and sustainable initiatives. We are at an inflexion point, and the choices we make today will shape the next decade of the Aviation sector.”
