Vijayawada, December 11, 2025: Newly appointed Chairman of the Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao Official Language Commission P Trivikrama Rao said the commission will work to promote the prominence of the Telugu language and its cultural richness across the world. He made these remarks after taking charge at an event held at Haritha Berm Park, Punnami Ghat.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh administered the oath of office. Trivikrama Rao expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his appointment and acknowledged the support of ministers and coalition leaders. He said the responsibility of leading the language commission is significant because Telugu faces increasing influence from other languages. He said strengthening the use of Telugu in government operations and protecting the language will be key priorities.
He said his interest in Telugu literature and journalism drew him into the media field, and his association with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu eventually led him into public life. He recalled his long standing admiration for the Chief Minister and mentioned that he authored the book Maha Swapnikudu Chandrababu as a tribute to his vision and perseverance.
Minister Kandula Durgesh said the government has taken two major decisions to strengthen the Telugu language. The first is the creation of the Official Language Commission in the name of noted scholar Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao who elevated Telugu on the global stage through the World Telugu Conferences. The second is the appointment of Trivikrama Rao, a veteran journalist known for his principled work and analytical writing. The Minister said his writings including Maha Swapnikudu and 1984 Prajaswamyaparirakshana Udyamam reflect his commitment.
He said recent appointments across cultural academies show that the government is selecting individuals with proven contributions in their respective fields. He said the new chairman’s leadership will help expand the reach of Telugu both nationally and internationally. Government initiatives such as strengthening Telugu in primary education and the implementation of the three language formula will gain further momentum under the commission. He expressed confidence that Trivikrama Rao will inspire younger generations to appreciate Telugu language and culture.
