Vijayawada, December 18, 2025: The state-level Yuva 2025 Youth Festival began grandly at KL University under the auspices of the Department of Youth Services. Youth Services Commissioner S Bharani inaugurated the three-day festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Speaking at the inauguration, Bharani said the objective of Yuva 2025 is to provide a strong platform for youth to showcase their talents, enhance creativity and leadership skills and prepare them to face future challenges with confidence. She said winners of the state-level competitions will get the opportunity to represent Andhra Pradesh at the National Youth Festival.
This year’s festival includes a wide range of cultural, literary and creative competitions such as folk dance, folk songs, classical dance, classical music, drama, painting, poetry, storytelling, public speaking, quiz and photography. District-level winners are participating in the state events.
The Commissioner said innovative programmes like Youth-Con, Youth Changemaker Talks and Yuva Sankalp have been introduced this year. A Global Diaspora Connect initiative has been created to link talented Telugu professionals across the world with Andhra Pradesh youth to provide international mentorship. A special Civil Services career orientation session has also been included to encourage youth participation in governance.
She said the festival is being organised in Public Private People Partnership mode in collaboration with organisations like CII and I-Win, in line with the vision of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and under the guidance of Youth and Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy.
Russian Centre for Science and Culture representative Antasya Ilushina said participating in the festival was an honour and praised India as the nation with the largest youth population. She said such platforms build confidence, knowledge and leadership among young participants.
Students from various districts are presenting folk dance performances and interacting with experts from different fields. Exhibitions showcasing student innovations are also part of the festival. Prizes will be awarded on the concluding day.
KL University Registrar Dr K Subba Rao, Student Activities Centre Director Dr Sai Vijay, officials from the Youth Services Department and other dignitaries participated in the programme.
