CM Chandrababu Naidu rolls out Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisan scheme amid lush green fields in Darsi, Prakasam District
Darsi, August 2: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the government’s commitment to making advanced agricultural technology accessible to farmers. He stated that recommendations would be issued based on a study of which crops would yield better profits. The CM officially launched the flagship Super Six program, Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisan, from Veerayapalem in Darsi mandal, Prakasam district, amidst verdant fields and in the presence of farmers. He interacted with farmers and inaugurated the scheme by crediting ₹7,000 each into the accounts of 46,85,838 farmers across the state.
Later, the CM emphasised that people must observe the stark difference between the welfare and development initiatives undertaken by the previous regime and those implemented by the current coalition government. He affirmed the fulfillment of the election promise of ₹20,000 annual support to farmers. The scheme, he said, will be implemented in three phases.
I Saw Joy in the Eyes of the Farmers
The CM expressed profound happiness in launching the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme for the farmers who nourish the nation.
“I witnessed the joy in the eyes of the farmers. A farmer is always a king. Even during crises like COVID-19, our Annadatas toiled in the fields. Despite their hardships, it is my desire that farmers live well. Today, the implementation of the Super Six promises brings me indescribable happiness. Through Annadata Sukhibhava, we have benefited 46,85,838 farmers in the state. In the first phase, the state’s share of ₹5,000 per farmer has already been credited, for which ₹2,343 crore was allocated. Additionally, the central government is contributing ₹2,000 per farmer, totalling ₹832 crore. In this first phase alone, each farmer receives ₹7,000, with an overall disbursement of ₹3,175 crore,” the CM explained.
Dedicated Portal and Toll-Free Number for Clarifications
The Chief Minister clarified that farmers can access information and raise queries related to the scheme through the RSK login on the Annadata Sukhibhava portal. He also stated that farmers can call the toll-free number 155251 for assistance.
“Under this scheme, we are allocating ₹186 crore to Prakasam district, benefiting 2,65,317 farmers. Within the Darsi constituency, 42,786 farmers will receive ₹29 crore. In the Darsi mandal, 10,972 farmers will get ₹7.36 crore. In Veerayapalem alone, 476 farmers will receive ₹31 lakh,” the CM said.
Implementing Super Six is a Matter of Joy
“In the interest of the state, we formed a coalition government. The people granted us a resounding mandate. The previous government caused financial destruction in the state. Despite the challenges, we are committed to fulfilling our promises, which is why we are implementing the Super Six. As promised, we have increased pensions to ₹4,000 starting from April last year. For pensions, we are allocating ₹32,134 crore annually for 64 lakh beneficiaries. The previous government raised pensions by only ₹1,000 over five years. Widows were denied pensions after the death of their spouses. Now, if any beneficiary misses their pension for two months, we are disbursing the full three-month amount in one go,” the CM highlighted.
Free Bus Travel from August 15
“Under the Talliki Vandanam scheme, we are providing ₹15,000 to every child in a household. The previous regime promised universal support but later restricted it to just one child. Through the Deepam scheme, we have brightened the lives of daughters by providing three free LPG cylinders, for which ₹2,700 crore is being spent. From August 15, under the Stree Shakti initiative, free bus travel will be provided for all women, benefiting 2.6 crore women across the state. While this government is serving ₹5 meals through Anna Canteens, the previous regime shut them down,” he added.
Andhra Pradesh Leads the Nation in Drip Irrigation
“To revive agriculture and uplift farmers' lives, this government is working tirelessly. By reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides, we are encouraging farmers to adopt natural farming practices. Under the Polam Pilustondi initiative this year, issues in 15,424 villages were resolved. During my previous tenure, I offered a 90% subsidy for drip irrigation, which the former government revoked. Now we’ve reinstated it to 100% subsidy for SC/ST farmers, 90% in Rayalaseema and Prakasam, and 70% in Coastal Andhra. Last year, drip irrigation expanded to 1,17,880 hectares, benefiting 1.11 lakh farmers. Andhra Pradesh now ranks number one in the country for drip irrigation. We’re supplying power to aqua farmers at ₹1.50 per unit. Financial support for fisherfolk has been increased from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000, benefiting 1,29,178 families with ₹259 crore,” he said.
“Additionally, ₹61 crore worth of farm tools were distributed to 26,000 farmers at a 50% subsidy. Soon, 875 Kisan drones will be deployed for agricultural use, with a target of adding 1,000 more in this year’s budget,” he added.
The Coalition Government is a Farmer's Government
“Through the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project, we brought Krishna waters to the Delta. We are informing farmers in advance about suitable crops and water availability. Based on this guidance, they are advised to plan cropping. Through AP Markfed, we purchased 20 million kgs of tobacco, ensuring farmers faced no losses, allocating ₹273 crore. For mango farmers, we paid ₹4 extra per kg, procuring 4,29,521 metric tonnes and disbursing ₹172 crore to 50,922 farmers. This reflects the coalition government’s sincerity towards farmers. We also procured 2,358 metric tonnes of cocoa at ₹50 per kg, totalling ₹12 crore. Under market intervention, chilli was purchased at ₹11,781 per quintal. During Kharif, we procured 36 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 6 lakh farmers for ₹8,282 crore, and during Rabi, 20 lakh metric tonnes from 2 lakh farmers for ₹4,575 crore. Within 48 hours of procurement, payments are credited to the farmers’ accounts,” the CM said.
We Ensured Fair Prices for Crops
“From subsidized seeds to ensuring Minimum Support Prices, we stood by farmers. Between 2014-2019, we introduced a dedicated agricultural budget, waived ₹15,279 crore in farm loans, conducted free soil tests, and distributed 1.33 crore Soil Health Cards. Under NTR Jalasiri, we drilled borewells and constructed 6 lakh farm ponds. Agricultural machinery worth ₹1,488 crore was distributed to 4.99 lakh farmers. We also distributed 23,500 tractors on subsidy,” he added.
Reservoirs Are Brimming with Water
“With foresight, water has been released into all reservoirs, now storing 700 TMC. Srisailam, Nagarjuna Sagar, Pulichintala, Cotton Barrage, Prakasam Barrage, and Somasila are all well-stocked. We aim to interlink rivers to ensure no shortage of drinking or irrigation water in the state. We urge citizens to also focus on groundwater recharge. Between 2014-2019, we spent ₹68,000 crore on irrigation. The previous regime spent just ₹12,000 crore. While they dismantled the free crop insurance scheme, we revived it after coming to power. Under the YSRCP rule, ₹1,670 crore worth of paddy dues were withheld. Our alliance cleared all those dues. We repaired the Gundlakamma gates and safeguarded the project. The previous government abandoned the Veligonda project. We will complete Phase 1 by next season and bring Krishna waters to Prakasam. By December 2027, we will complete the Polavaram project and dedicate it to the nation,” he announced.
Beware of Criminals Wearing Political Masks
“People must remain vigilant against those wearing the mask of politics. In my 47-year political journey, including 15 years as CM, I have never seen such a degradation in politics. One party in our state depicted Amaravati women as prostitutes. When they demanded an apology during the party leader’s visit to Podili, Prakasam, they were assaulted. TDP MLA Prashanti Reddy was abused like an animal by YSRCP leader Nallapureddy. What did their party chief do? Instead of condemning it, he said, ‘Just give the order, we’ll drag them out of their houses.’ They tried to frame me in connection with their uncle’s murder. In Palnadu, a YSRCP worker was killed in a road mishap and thrown into the bushes to die. In Bangarupalem, Chittoor, mangoes were crushed under tractors to create a political spectacle. Fake videos were shown in Nellore to create false public support,” the CM said.
“Political parties must serve the people. Even if power is their ultimate goal, they must uphold values, discipline, rules, and decency. Should the people learn foul language and violent conduct from Jagan? I’m working to protect the lives and the future of the poor. Look at how Telangana, which I helped develop, has grown. I will make Andhra Pradesh the number one state in India by 2047,” he added.
