Vijayawada, January 26, 2026:Union Minister for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje arrived in Vijayawada to participate in the third Regional Conference being held with States and Union Territories on labour laws and other key issues. She was given a warm reception at Novotel by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Labour Vasanthasetti Subhash.
Principal Secretary of the Labour Department Seshagiri Babu, Labour Commissioner Gandham Chandrudu, and senior officials of the department were present during the reception.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vasanthasetti Subhash said the regional conference would play a vital role in deliberations on labour reforms initiated by the Central Government, implementation of new labour codes, labour welfare measures, industrial growth, and strengthening coordination between the Centre and the States. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to safeguard workers’ rights while simultaneously enhancing employment opportunities.
Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje appreciated the arrangements made by the Andhra Pradesh Government for the successful conduct of the conference and assured continued support from the Central Government towards labour welfare initiatives.
Officials stated that the conference is expected to further strengthen coordination among States and Union Territories on labour policies and their effective implementation.
