Amaravati:Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Scheme should be implemented not only to provide employment to the poor but also to creates assets in villages. He directed officials and alliance partners to prepare a clear action plan to explain the scheme to the beneficiaries.
It may be noted that the Central Government replaced the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme with the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Grameen)—the VB G-RAM-G Scheme in December. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for effective public outreach on the objectives and benefits of this new initiative.
BJP state President PVN Madhav and Minister Kandula Durgesh met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Camp Office. today and discussed on the implementation of the G-RAM-G Scheme.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the new scheme provides an additional 25 days of employment to the poor . At the same time, clear guidelines have been framed to ensure that agricultural operations are not disrupted, benefiting both wage labourers and farmers. By implementing the G-RAM-G Scheme effectively now, various types of infrastructure and assets can be created in rural areas. Compared to NREGA, the G-RAM-G Scheme allows additional categories of works, including the installation of solar lighting systems, which will significantly strengthen rural infrastructure.
If Central Government schemes are fully leveraged, large-scale development programmes can be implemented across the State. Under this scheme, works such as construction of Gokulams, plantations, fodder cultivation for livestock-based livelihoods, and employment generation can be taken up. The scheme can also be converged with initiatives like the Jal Jeevan Mission and Amarajeevi Jaladhara to ensure drinking water for every household.
Construction or repair of schools, hospitals, community centres and similar assets can further strengthen village infrastructure. With a planned approach, required development funds can be mobilised through this scheme while simultaneously achieving village development.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Gram Sabhas should approve the works to be undertaken and also discuss and decide the schedule of works, incorporating suggestions from villagers. Details of works taken up under the G-RAM-G Scheme should be uploaded online for transparency. With systematic planning, the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra–2047 can be achieved.
Speaking on the occasion Minister. 00.
