Women Employees are the real pride of Vijayawada Division : DRM Narendra A. Patil

Vijayawada Division celebrates International Women’s Day-2025  Speaking on the occasion, Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager stated that women Employees are the real pride of Vijayawada Division and they are excelling on all the fronts with sincerity and dedication. DRM stated that Indian Railways is one of the largest employers in the world and a major frontrunner to the cause of women empowerment since its inception. Speaking on the importance of women,

DRM shared that the Mother is the first coach for every individual in this world and entire civilization is indebted to the women and asserted that it’s our bound duty to respect and celebrate womanhood. DRM gave a call to the workforce to collectively work for upliftment of women folks in downtrodden condition and distress to give a real meaning to this celebration. DRM recollected the endeavours of great Savitri Bhai Phule, the real social champion who relentlessly worked for girl education, defining women empowerment in real sense in Pre-Independence period.

DRM exhorted everyone to take up the challenge of bringing positive change in women life and strive for real gender equality and zero discrimination. DRM congratulated personnel department for carrying out the campaign and emphasized that such campaigns are necessary to bring social change and root out gender bias from the society. He also said that Indian Railways has always taken special measures for women staff and passengers to ensure secure & safe train journeys and right kind of environment at workplace.
Shri Srinivasa Rao Konda, ADRM Operations said that Women work force of the Division are working without any physical and social barriers on par with men and contributing to the Division holistic Progress. Shri P. E. Edwin, ADRM, Infrastructure commended their performance and determination in bringing laurels to the Division by overcoming all the challenges. Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM and Smt B Veena Chandana, Vice President, SCRWWO, Vijayawada felicitated and presented mementoes to 7 Employees from State Govt. of A.P and 17 Women Personnel of Vijayawada division for their outstanding contribution to Division success. A lucky Dip programme was organized and the winners were presented with Kitchen electric appliances. Shri P. Sreenath, APO proposed vote of thanks and concluded the event.  Representatives of SCRWWO, Branch Officer’s turned out in huge numbers for the event. 

Earlier today in the morning, Hon’ble Judge Venkata Jyothirmai Pratapa, High Court of Andhra Pradesh delivered a valuable seminar on several case studies from legal point of view and enlightened the staff on women rights.
