The State Government is moving ahead with the Yoga Andhra program, which was launched on May 21 in line with the aspirations of the Chief Minister to realize Arogya Ananda Swarna Andhra, and with this spirit, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand called for us to move together to make the program a success.

CS Vijayanand participated in the Police Theme Yoga program organized at Vijayawada BRTS Yoga Street on Thursday under the joint auspices of the Ayush Department, NTR District Administration, District Police Commissionerate, and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and practiced yoga asanas along with senior IAS and IPS officers.

 Later, the CS said that with the aim of building a healthy and happy society, YogaAndhra programs will be held in every village and town in the state till June 21, the International Yoga Day, and efforts are being made to teach yoga to at least two crore people by that time. He said that 1,25,000 yoga trainers have registered across the state, with their help, we are making people aware of yoga and encouraging them to learn yoga asanas. He explained that we are organizing special Yoga Andhra programs with 26 themes in 26 districts.. Farmers, laborers, employment-guaranteed workers, senior citizens, differently-abled people.. 

This theme yoga is being organized to bring yoga closer to every section of the society. He said that we are organizing programs to explain the uniqueness of yoga and create awareness in about 100 tourist areas across the state. He said that four to five tourist areas have been identified in each district for this.Let us work towards the success of Yoga Andhra with this spirit, said CS Vijayanand.


Special Chief Secretary Medical and Health MT Krishna Babu said that Good response to Yoga Andhra across the state.
The Yoga Andhra, which started across the state on the 21st of this month, is receiving a special response.People from all walks of life are participating in the program and contributing to the advance. He explained that yoga enthusiasts are registering in almost all districts, and in some districts, more than the target has been registered.

Chief Commissioner of Land Administration and Special Officer of NTR District G. Jayalakshmi said that everyone should be aware of the valuable yoga wealth provided by Indian culture and connect with yoga in their daily lives to lead a prosperous life. She said that yoga should not be limited to any one day but should be continued as a good habit throughout life.

Collector NTR District  Dr. G. Lakshmi said that as part of YogaAndhra, yoga asana programs are being held every day across the district, and that we are also organizing theme yoga on the BRTS Yoga Street, and that we have already organized theme yoga programs with journalists, yoga training institutions, representatives of government employee unions, vehicle drivers, etc. As part of yoga in tourist areas, we have organized a yoga asana learning program on Gandhi Hill. We will organize it in other tourist areas as well. According to a plan, we are working to bring yoga closer to about 15 lakh people in the district.

 Police Commissioner Vijayawada SV Rajasekhara Babu said that he is happy to be a part of Yoga Andhra, which is being organized by the government with the aim of making people aware of the benefits of yoga, which can improve physical as well as mental health, and encouraging them to practice it. He said that he would like to express his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of Police Yoga Andhra, which was organized with nearly five thousand police officers, staff and yoga enthusiasts at the BRTS Yoga Street on Thursday.

As part of the program, the artistic yoga performances by children were impressive. Om Shanti Brahmakumari explained the benefits of yoga and meditation, saying that concentration on breathing works as a cure for all diseases, and conducted meditation practice with yoga enthusiasts.

The program was attended by Commissioner Health and Family Welfare G. Veerapandian,Director AYUSH K.Dinesh Kumar,  Municipal Commissioner Vijayawada Dhyanachandra HM, Inspector General of Police B. Rajakumari, IG Eagle A.K.Ravikrishna, IG APSP Ratnakumari,DCP K.G.V. Saritha,RDO Vijayawada Chaitanya, representatives of Amaravati Yoga, Patanjali Yoga, Isha Foundation, Art of Living, Om Shanti Brahma Kumaris, and a large number of yoga enthusiasts participated.
