Coordination Lapse Led to Power Disruption at Durga Temple
-Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar
Mangalagiri: Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Tuesday stated that attempts by certain sections to politicize the recent power disruption at the Durga Temple in Vijayawada are unfortunate. Speaking to the media at the Telugu Desam Party Central Office in Mangalagiri, the Minister said a review meeting was conducted with officials from the Endowments and Energy Departments to ascertain the reasons behind the power outage at the Kanaka Durga Temple, which lasted for approximately 15 minutes.
The Minister explained that as soon as the matter came to his notice, power supply was restored on a war footing. He clarified that the disruption occurred due to a lack of coordination among officials and asserted that senior authorities have been instructed to submit a detailed report immediately. He assured that strict action would be taken against those found responsible and emphasized that steps would be taken to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.
Reiterating the Alliance Government’s commitment, Minister Gottipati said that devotees’ sentiments are of paramount importance. He further informed that another review meeting would be held on January 6 and 7 under the leadership of Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, with the participation of the Durga Temple Executive Officer and senior officials. The Minister cautioned against indulging in political criticism over a minor lapse caused by coordination failure. He remarked that the YSR Congress Party leaders have made it a habit to politicize every issue for their own political gains. He made it clear that under the Alliance Government, justice will be ensured not only for Sanatana Dharma but for all religions equally.

He noted that as promised by Minister Nara Lokesh during his padayatra, Addanki and Kandukur have now been merged with Prakasam district. The Minister highlighted that efforts for the formation of Addanki Revenue Division have been ongoing since 2012 and that the long-pending demand has finally been realized under the Alliance Government.
